– Local Miami music artist, Macallee King is free at last!
The Jamaican born reggae infused, hip-hop artist relocated to Miami from Canada after winning Canada’s Much Music Award for Best Song and Best Video. He immediately began recording and grabbed the attention of several labels and eventually signed with Skyrockit Records.
The affiliation produced the hit “Frosty” which was #1 for several weeks in Florida, played across the country and was the number 3 selling ringtone on Verizon, there was a lack of structure and organization that did not allow either to capitlize on the record’s success. Frosty’s success was based on talent because there was little to no budget backing the artist or the music.
After meeting and signing with Miami based Attorney/Manager, Rian Kinney, in November of 2009, things began to come together for Macallee King. Artist and Manager successfully negotiated the release which means Macallee King is a free agent.
Macallee King featured on and shot a video for the summer hit “Party All Night” with ‘T-Swagg’, Slip-n-Slide’s ‘Camar’, Ultra’s Honorebel and Jenny Perez.
Macallee King and his label “The Royal Family” are interviewing record labels for a potential affiliation or distribution. “We have been extremely busy sitting down with potential investors and labels; we are trying to find the right team to bring the best product to the marketplace.” Rian Kinney said.
Macallee King has been in the studio writing, recording and coaching… 2011 is going to be a huge year for The Royal Family and the world better watch out.
